Questions

Before you book, read this.

Practical answers about the studio, the gospel focus, files, and how a session is confirmed. If yours is not here, send it on WhatsApp.

Universal Audio interface on the SN7 studio desk.
Do you only record gospel and Christian music?

Yes. We record gospel and Christian music for artists, churches, choirs, and ministries. That includes songs, sermons, and podcasts.

Where is the studio?

SN7 Studio Records is at 27 Bram Fischer Road, Durban. The map on this site opens that address. Sessions are by appointment, Monday to Saturday. WhatsApp us before you travel.

How do I get a price?

Tell us the service, how many people are coming, and what you need to leave with. A solo vocal, a choir, a mix of an existing session, and a filmed podcast are not the same quote. We reply on WhatsApp with the scope and the fee before you commit. There is no public price list because a guessed price would be the wrong one.

Can you mix or master a song that was recorded somewhere else?

Yes. Send the session, or the stereo mix if you only need mastering. Tell us the sample rate, whether the lead vocal is on its own track, and where the song will be released. We will say if the files are ready or if something needs to be re-recorded.

Can a worship team or choir book the room?

Yes. The live room already has drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and percussion. Tell us the size of the team and whether you need a click or a guide. Choirs can be recorded in sections or as a group, depending on the arrangement and the room.

Can I hire the studio without your engineer?

Studio hire is available when you already have a producer or engineer and you need the treated rooms. What is included, and what stays locked, is confirmed before the day. If you want the session run for you, book recording or production instead of dry hire.

Do you film music videos and podcasts?

Yes. There is a lit set for ministry conversations, interviews, and performance footage, separate from the live room. Video and podcast days are scoped before the shoot: number of people, episode length, and whether you need a finished edit or the footage and the clean audio.

What files will I receive?

A recording day can leave you with organised session audio and a rough mix to listen to. A mixing job leaves you with a stereo mix and the alternate versions we agreed, such as a vocal-up version or a version without the lead. A master is delivered for streaming, and a louder playback version if the release needs it. The exact hand-off is written into the quote.

Which languages do you record?

isiZulu gospel is at the centre of the work, including Zulu worship and choir music. We also record English and the other languages sung in South Africa, such as isiXhosa, Sesotho, and Afrikaans. Tell us the language when you book.

Which parts of Durban do you serve?

The studio is at 27 Bram Fischer Road and works with artists across Durban, from the beachfront and the Bluff to Chatsworth, Umlazi, KwaMashu, Phoenix, Pinetown, Durban North, and Umhlanga. The full list is on the service areas page. If your area is not listed and you can travel, ask.

How soon can we book?

Write on WhatsApp with your preferred date and the size of the session. Weekdays are usually easier than Saturdays. Do not travel until the booking is confirmed in writing on the chat.
